COVID-19 updates

Hi ECWC family —

We hope you all are doing well.

We’d like to share what’s changed at ECWC as we adjust to life with the new restrictions COVID-19 has brought, and to answer some questions.

Is ECWC still open?

Yes,  we are still open at our Costa Mesa location: 2930 Grace Lane, Unit A, Costa Mesa, CA. Our classes at Blizzard have been suspended on campus for the near future, but continue at ECWC.

When are classes being held?

Mon: 4 pm - 7:30 pm

Tues: 7 am - 9 am, noon, 5:30-7:30

Wed: 4 pm - 7:30 pm

Thurs:  7 am - 9 am, noon, 5:30-7:30

Sat: 9 am (MMA), 9:30 am (bootcamp); 11 am (strongman)

We will be running morning (7am to 9am) and noon classes at the same time Tuesdays and Thursdays at the gym.  For the evening classes,  we will be starting at 5:30 pm with the intention of closing by 7:30 so we can all get home to our families.

What is ECWC doing to keep the gym clean?

Unlike a franchise gym, ECWC is smaller, with a limited membership, so it’s easier for us to keep the equipment clean.

Washing hands is mandatory on entrance and exit — no exceptions.

At the gym, we have already sanitized all of the equipment several times, and will continue to do that after every class. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant will be available at the gym for you to use as well. Don’t be shy about asking for it!

The workouts will include more outdoor activities, so people can have more space to operate. We will be adding more class times as necessary.

We’re doing our best to make sure ECWC is as clean and safe as possible for everyone.

Should I come work out?

If you’re not feeling 100%, or feel like you’re catching a cold, head ache, sore throat — definitely isolate yourself and see your doctor.

If you’re feeling healthy, and aren’t immunocompromised or caring for someone who is, we’d love to see you! Staying active and getting social support can help bolster your immune system and improve tour mental health, especially if you’re working from home.

Is California’s Strongest Man still happening?

As of now, yes — however, that may be subject to change, as the recommendations for public gatherings are changing daily. At the moment, our competitor list is small enough that we’re still able to gather in public and hold the event.

We know some of you need to book airfare and hotels to come compete, so we’re hoping to have a final decision for you by this Friday.  We are closely monitoring the virus, and will do the right thing if things don’t settle down in the next week. We certainly will not put anyone at risk if the virus is spreading rapidly.

What can I do to stay healthy?
