Huntington Beach, CA–(PRESS RELEASE)— This weekend, some of the best strength athletes in the U.S. stormed through Surf City to claim the title of Southen California’s Strongest Man. When the smoke cleared in the Heavyweight division, it was East Coast / West Coast Strength’s athletes - Jeff Holder, Sean Demarinis and Casey Garrison finishing first, second and third - sweeping the honors in that category.
ECWC’s Sean Demarinis claimed first place in both the Overhead Press Medley and the atlas stones, Jeff Holder took the Tire Flip and Craig Ayer from Tucson , AZ finished first in both the Keg Toss and the Farmer’s Walk.
In the lightweight division, Jason Sparks from Arizona claimed the title of Southern California’s Strongest Man finishing first in the Tire Flip, while Ty Roberts from Albuquerque, New Mexico took second overall but won 3 out of 5 events including the Overhead Press Medley, the Keg Toss and the Atlas Stones. Third place was claimed by California’s prolific newcomer - Ronald Strahan of Beale Air Force Base. The Farmer’s Walk was won by ECWC’s Lewis Bradshaw of Newport Beach.
California Pro Strongman and Promoter of Southern California’s Strongest Man - Scott Brengel said, “In our third year of running this contest, we saw an even greater level of competition all around. All of our prior contest winners have all turned pro within a year of winning this contest, sending a statement that if you can win this show - you are worthy of moving on to the next level to compete against the best of the best in the U.S.”
